The initial strive to depict in photographic accuracy transformed into a desire to visualize moods, impressions, perceptions.
water – clouds –wind – spray – rain – leaves – fish swarms – sperms – music – these are only a few of the many associations that come to people’s minds when they come in contact with my paintings and drawings. Possibilities, snapshots.
I do not have to understand the paintings. I just dedicate myself to them. From up close to distance. Let them speak in their own language. Names so I can recognize them again. Immerse. During the process of creation as well as during viewing them. Into that what cannot be expressed by words. Visualize in colors.
Arabic has taught me that backwards also can mean forwards. Dancing writing. Strangely familiar.
Dancing is my second passion. Tango Argentino. Allow, surrender. Tension, posture. Here too: going back means advancing. Language without words. Movement in colors. Devotion the art.
Ever since I have understood that time is relative, so much appears possible Expanding time the art.
Poles, opposites fascinate me. Asking myself whether there is such a thing as an absolute size. Isn’t it us who ‘create’ these differences; much the way we merely ‘invent’colors and distances using our brains.
«Les extrêmes se touchent».
My indian ink-drawings enabled me to assume a different kind of seeing. The not-recognizable. Seeing in the spaces between. The in-between. The analogy to life. What really matters.
Now and now and now.
Vitality, tension, oscillation. Movement, resonance. Rhythm. On every level. Whether it can be heard, felt, seen, smelled, tasted – invisible, inaudible, unnoticeable.?
The dance in erverything.
Conditions, feelings of livelines. Isn’t that what we are searching for?
Im interested in the not-focussed. The not-recognizable. The not-knowing. The guessing.
Life the art.
Since I cannot express everything by words…
…I paint.
